Art Series First Attempt: Anime

I remember sitting on the edge of my living room sofa, at the tender age of 8. The TV was set on a channel called FoxKids, and I was patiently waiting for the time to hit 8:45 so my parents could take me to school.

I'll never forget the goosebumps, the rush of adrenaline that quickly surged through my small body when the theme song for Sailor Moon played through the TV airwaves. I was utterly encapsulated, enamoured, and besotted with her and her fellow four strong female comrades, and knew deep down that this was a feeling that would last for the rest of my life. I've spent years watching various Anime shows and find myself falling deeper and madder in love with it every time I watch it – my 16-year connection is still burning bright.

Anime is something that I have loved and will continue to love for the rest of my life. I'm inspired by it and have always wanted to try and draw characters. The above is my 1st attempt.

It's nowhere near perfect but I'm pleased that there seems to be potential to get better.

I'll be doing more First Attempts on this blog, hopefully to inspire all those interested in art and who are looking to draw. I haven't drawn in years, so I'm starting from absolute scratch and hope that you will be able to experience my journey in getting better at drawing with me.
